What happens during a lighting installation?
We confirm fixture locations and mounting needs, review the electrical supply and controls, complete the agreed installation and check operation. A pendant’s weight, a recessed fixture’s ceiling conditions and an outdoor light’s exposure each affect the equipment and work required. Customer-supplied products should be reviewed before purchase when there is uncertainty about compatibility.

Choose the lighting for the job it needs to do
General lighting helps you move around a room, task lighting brightens a work surface, and accent lighting draws attention to a feature. A kitchen may use all three: recessed lighting for the room, under-cabinet lights for preparation and pendants above an island. Separate controls let you use the combination you need.
Lumens describe light output; watts describe electrical power use. Color temperature describes whether white light appears warmer or cooler. We discuss these choices with glare, fixture position and compatible dimming, so an LED upgrade produces the effect you wanted rather than simply a different bulb.

Which kind of fan do you need?
Ceiling fans circulate air in an occupied room or a suitable outdoor space. Bathroom exhaust fans remove humid air through a ventilation path. Attic ventilators serve the attic. Their mounting, controls and electrical needs are different, so the right service begins with what you want the fan to accomplish.
A new ceiling fan needs suitable support as well as power. An exhaust or attic fan also needs a coordinated ventilation arrangement. We review the selected model and clarify any roof, duct or finish work before the electrical visit.

Replacement, new wiring and the cost of access
Changing a compatible fixture at an existing location can be a smaller job than adding lights to a finished ceiling. New positions may need cable routes, openings, circuit changes and finish repairs. High ceilings, large chandeliers, assembly time and lift access also affect the estimate. The scope identifies who supplies equipment and who handles patching or painting.

Think about the controls
Discuss how you want the room to work: separate lighting zones, convenient switch locations, or dimming compatible with the selected fixtures. For fans, share the fan and control models so compatibility can be considered.
Track lighting installation, wall sconces and working rooms
Track lighting lets compatible heads be aimed at artwork, shelving or changing displays. The track, connectors and heads need to belong to a documented compatible system; a new head is not selected by appearance alone. Wall sconces need locations that fit doors, furniture and sightlines, with switching considered before the wall is opened.
Closet lighting should be planned around shelving and stored items, using fixtures and clearances suitable for the location. In a garage, the door tracks, ceiling height, workbench and storage can interrupt light from a single fixture. Laundry-room lighting should reach the sorting or folding surface as well as the center of the room. Send room photographs and mark the areas where you need useful light; that helps us propose a layout rather than simply a brighter lamp.
Service area, permits and scheduling
Inside city limits, the City of Myrtle Beach Construction Services Department handles electrical trade permits and inspections. In unincorporated Horry County, the relevant authority is Horry County Code Enforcement. The property jurisdiction and proposed scope determine the requirements; a Myrtle Beach mailing address alone does not establish the responsible department.
Santee Cooper serves Myrtle Beach customers. Utility coordination is needed only when the proposed work affects the utility supply or requires its involvement. Confirm the provider on your bill; service territories vary across the wider area.

Can I supply the fixture?

Can you install a heavier chandelier?
Fixture weight, mounting instructions, ceiling access, and existing support need to be reviewed before the scope is confirmed.
Can lighting be improved without replacing every fixture?
Yes. Compatible lamps, a targeted new light or a better control arrangement may meet the goal. We compare the existing equipment with the result you want before recommending the extent of the work.
Why do my new LED lights flicker when I use the dimmer?
Flicker can involve control compatibility, the fixture or an electrical connection problem. A driver, the electronic component that supplies suitable power to an LED, must work with the intended dimmer. Share both model numbers; unusual heat, burning odors or sudden widespread changes require electrical assessment.
